Godzilla's Atomic Breath not only blown away and destroyed buildings, but it also shed some of Godzilla's flesh and spread it across Ginza. Noriko most likely was exposed to Godzilla's cells while she was injured with open wounds. This also might be the reason why she survived the Atomic Breath. Since the Godzilla's cells can quickly heal wounds.

Takashi Yamazaki is Brilliant. The opening scene is not the ocean or the bomb. It's the wheels. The Japanese Spoke wheel is throughout the entire movie. Survivors of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing of March 10th 1945". A horrific event with more casualties and lost in history to the Hiroshima Bomb. Koichi's Japanese manufactured Harley Davidson Motorcycle was an agreement between Harley Davidson Motorcycle and Japan. The sudden bombardment of Godzilla by the "Takao" is quite ironic as the "Takao" was involved in the surprise attack of Pearl Harbor. Too many "Historical references" to mention. Makes this a good movie to do research on WWII history.

Went to the theaters to check it out and my mouth dropped from Godzilla’s opening scene. I wasn’t ready for how crazy he would pop off. Then again when he did his atomic breath. Awesome movie.
